Inside The HP TouchSmart 300-1125 All-In-One PC

What’s so exciting about buying your very own HP TouchSmart 300-1125? Well for starters you’d want to play around with the touch friendly apps. While the hardware on the inside looks the same as some of the previous models, there’s some really exciting features you’ll experience under the hood.

Definitely multi-touch is making a big buzz for this season along with Windows 7 and those fancy surface apps, but the most important thing is what exactly are some of HP’s flavors that’s been added to the mix.

Snapshot of what engadget has to say:

It’s added panes for Hulu, Netflix, Twitter and an HP Music Store powered by Rhapsody, which work in nicely with the rest of the touch-friendly apps onboard and a bit of underlying Microsoft technology keeping things humming — like a nice big handwriting pane for quick Rhapsody searches.

There’s also a voice controlled recipe app that can capture recipes from popular recipe sites and read them out loud to you, and the photo app can hook up with a phone over Bluetooth and pull off photos.

The other big new touch is the addition of HDMI and composite inputs, specifically for use with gaming consoles on the colorful 20-inch (300) and 23-inch (600) screens. What we would’ve really liked to see at this point would be a bit of that stylus-friendly capacitive Wacom tech, since a computer like this is dying to be turned into an easel, but this infrared camera-based stuff will have to do for now.

For some people even if they don’t use the touchscreen much, it’s always good to know it’s there and available for use.
  • Is this PC for gamers? The HP TouchSmart 300-1125 runs on a AMC Athlon Quad which is pretty good, but you’d get better performance with an i5 or i7, if you’re a serious gamer I wouldn’t recommend this one.

HP TouchSmart 300-1125 Reviews

Don’t buy the HP TouchSmart 300-1125 All-in-one PC before you know what you’re getting into. It’s always good to do your research before you go out and buy something particularly if it’s a computer.

When it comes to buying a computer, you’d want to know two things. The first thing is that you’d want to know if it has everything you want in it, and whether if anyone else had any problems with using it. That’s why I’ve gathered a list of reviews from other people to see what they have to say about it.

By Nobleman27q

I purchased this PC and I’m overall satisfied, it exceeded my expectation. The features, performance and HPs costumer service were all greater than I anticipated. The only thing that fell short of my expectation was its speed. I thought that it would be a much faster PC being that it’s new and its specs. Not to be taken for slow though (surely it’s not) but my thoughts of speed was ahead of the PCs. Again not that its slow it’s just not as fast of a processor as I had imagine.

Great buy, I recommend!

HP’s customer service is generally very helpful from my experience, when it comes to speed it depends on perspective and it would be as equally as fast as any new computer. With windows 7 you can adjust the animations and graphics to be lower so I didn’t really have any problems.

The HP Touchsmart 300-1125 was as advertised and more. Shipment was fast. Set up was easy, straightforward and quick. I love the space that is freed up and especially getting rid of all those wires. I am still discovering features that I did not look for or expect. Picture quality is excellent. Operation is intuitive.

Space is one of the biggest benefits you’ll get with the HP TouchSmart 300-1125 because it’s an all-in-one computer and it’s definitely one of the reasons why I bought mine.

By The Big Guy

This all-in-one meets my needs perfectly. Hi-def display, 1 TERABYTE hard disk, 4GB RAM, $850 bucks, what more could I ask for? And I have been buying and using PCs since 1983.

I had a 17″ Dell laptop from 2006 so I wanted to upgrade. I did not need portability. There were no problems with setup and file transfer. This PC boots up quickly.

The touchscreen feature is something that is a nice to have, but I find that I do not use it that often. It is easier to use the mouse for most applications. HP has non-touch all-in-ones at a less expensive price, so think about how often you might want to reach your hand and touch the screen vs. use a mouse.

The screen is 720p and is cable ready for watching your favorite shows.

The processor is an AMC Athlon quad…..you will get better performance from an intel i5 or i7, but you will pay a couple of hondos for that. If you are a gamer, you might consider an upgrade.

All in all, this PC is a great price performer!

I think with some people the touchscreen feature is not all that of a big deal, but it was certainly a selling point for me, because I love to beable to just point my fingers towards whatever I want and to me I think it’s a brilliant piece of technology to beable to do that.

This has been a great unit so far, we put in th kitchen to take the place of our TV. Couple of things though and I will give you good and bad. Good- The TV tuner works way better than I thought it would, it turns on and off (computer) that is quickly. Touch screen works OK but it has froze or stopped working sometimes like I had read before in the reviews (we can live with that). The one thing my wife wanted that doesn’t work the greatest is the recipe software for touch screen, usually only brings in part of the recipes from online so you would have to type in alot of extra stuff to get the whole recipe. We are scanning her recipes in instead to pdf files and just opening those and not using the recipe software.Windows 7 is way better than my vista!! Would buy this again.

Windows 7 is the perfect operating system for the this computer, I found that with other versions of windows it doesn’t seem to work as well. The touch screen is smooth and enjoyable in my personal experience, you will issues with certain things here and there as using your fingers don’t necessarily have any advantage over using your mouse. Highlighting a certain section of text for instance can be pretty frustrating with a touch screen.

By Sweetthang “Music Lover”

I bought the HP TouchSmart about 3 months ago. I have never had a better PC in my life! I have owned quite a few laptops and PC’s because I always like to stay up on technology. But, none of them compare to this! Speed is fantastic, graphics and included software are phenomenal! Don’t miss out, you won’t be sorry!

So overall, I’m sure many people won’t be disappointed by this computer because I certainly don’t, you that a product is good when there are good reviews about it. If you’ve bought this computer too then please add your own reviews in my comment section below I’d love to hear what others have been saying about it.
